By encouraging Kiwis to change when they use power and spread demand throughout the day (and night), we can lower the pressure on New Zealand’s renewable generation assets, reducing the need to supplement the market with fossil fuels.

We feel so strongly about helping Kiwis reduce their environmental impact that we’ve developed CHOICE, an app that educates New Zealanders about which fuels are in the electricity mix at any given time, and their real time carbon impact. By showing people how their electricity is generated, we’re empowering them to make an informed choice that can save money, and the environment.

Our model also makes investing new, energy efficient, smart technologies more attractive. For example, by giving customers access to low, overnight, wholesale spot prices the financial upside of electric car ownership is better than ever!

Marcel van den Assum


Formerly CIO at Fonterra and Managing Principal of Unisys, Marcel now gives guidance to a wide range of companies driving inspirational transformation. He is Founding Chair of GreenButton, Chair of Voco, and a Director of Simpl Group, Yonix, Varigate, and AngelHQ, and Partner in Lush Design Gallery. He also serves on Advisory Boards for private and public sector entities including the Inland Revenue Department, and is Chair of the Angel Association of New Zealand. Marcel is a member of the Institute of Directors.

Dr Julian Elder

Julian is a Chartered Professional Engineer with a range of local and international management experience. He has had extensive involvement in the electricity and water/wastewater sectors including seven years as a CEO. He is a Director of Strada, a civil contracting business owned by the Waikato District Council, the Chair of Soda Inc, Hamilton’s business incubator, and a Trustee of the Animal Welfare Foundation. He also sits on the Honours Committee at the University of Waikato.

Aimee McCammon

Aimee McCammon is an experienced strategist and brand builder with deep knowledge of consumer marketing. Over the past decade she has held senior management roles at Assignment Group, Park Road Post Production, and Trade Me, following a successful international career with the Saatchi & Saatchi network. Aimee has a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University, and has completed leadership training at the Omnicom University in Shanghai.  She is a board member of The Arts Foundation and Pic’s Peanut Butter.

Simon Robertson

Simon is a highly experienced CFO, having lead the finance, accounting, business technology and procurement teams at Auckland Airport, as well as providing company leadership on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, regulatory affairs, treasury and taxation. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand, Institute of Directors, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Matt Todd

Matt brings insight from a global career in the energy, utilities and infrastructure sectors to the Flick board. He has worked in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, Southeast Asia, South America and the Pacific Islands. Since 2003 Matt has been based in sunny Gisborne, serving as CEO of Eastland Group. Eastland Group owns and operates many of the regions major infrastructure assets including Eastland Network lines company, Eastland Port, Gisborne Airport, the Waihi hydro scheme and Te Ahi O Maui geothermal plant, due to open in 2018.

Flick is on the hunt for some friendly team players, with great interpersonal skills to join our team as Customer Experience Advisors!

As part of our front-line team, you’ll be responsible for providing exceptionally human interaction with Flicksters (our awesome bunch of customers) both over the phone and through digital channels.

You'll be solutions-focused, have a quick wit and quirky charm that will ensure we provide every person who contacts us with the very best experience of #FlickLife. You’ll ensure our customers understand what makes us different and help them engage with our techy tools to make the most of being a Flickster.

If you have experience serving customers, are up for big challenges, and love being part of something innovative and unique, then we’d love to hear from you.

We currently have full-time positions available, but are always on the look-out for people who are the right fit for our business as we grow.

Our Contact Centre hours of operation are:

  • 8am to 8pm Mondays to Fridays
  • 8.30am to 5pm weekends and public holidays
